Obituary for Richard T Gers
Sayreville
Richard T. Gers, age 72, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Bayonne, he had lived in Sayreville for many years. Before his retirement, Rich worked as a PC designer for AT&T for over 20 years. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a communicant of Our Lady of Victories RC Church in Sayreville. Rich played softball in Sayreville and was a Little League and Legion baseball coach for many years. He was an avid San Francisco Giants fan and loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is predeceased by his father Walter, his father and mother in law John and Veronica Miskell, his brothers in law John and Dennis Miskell and his niece Casey Miskell.
Surviving are his loving wife Patricia Miskell Gers, his son Patrick and his wife Jessica, his granddaughter Veronica, his mother Stella Szot Gers, his sisters in law Diane Miskell, Janet Miskell, his niece Michele De Filippo and her husband Joe, his great-niece Summer, his niece Colleen Miskell and her fiancé Zak, his great niece Delaney, his nephews Kevin Miskell, Darren Miskell and his wife Ilde, John Miskell, his brother Robert Gers, his nephews Jason and Jeremy Gers and many other family members, Godchildren and friends who will miss him dearly.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 1pm to 4pm.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 3pm at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin.
A private cremation will follow.
