Obituary for Raffaelle Sebastian "Ralph" Amaranto

Raffaelle Sebastian “Ralph” Amaranto, age 78, of East Brunswick, peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Sacco, Italy to the late Ermelindo and Carmela Amaranto, Ralph began his ‘American Dream’ when he arrived to Brooklyn, NY in 1955. He later moved to East Brunswick with his family where he lived for 30 years. Since immigrating to the US, Mr. Amaranto was always a successful business entrepreneur, best evidenced as the proud owner and operator of International Auto Center, Inc. in Sayreville. Ralph loved spending time in both Italy and Upstate NY, and enjoyed gardening, antiques, cars, thinking of new businesses and taking care of those around him. He was a dreamer who turned all his dreams into reality; an innovator and creator who could turn nothing into something. However, what he will be most remembered by is his warm smile, cheerful laugh, and the ability to make anyone feel comfortable around him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Ralph is predeceased by his brother Angelo Amaranto. Surviving is his beloved wife of 55 years Josephine Amaranto (Tedesco) of East Brunswick; his loving daughters Anna and husband Ray Callori of East Brunswick and Antoinette Handler of Warren; his brother Emidio of Brooklyn; his dear grandchildren Maxwell Handler, Adriana Callori, Alexandra Handler, and Olivia Callori; as well as many loving family members and friends across the United States and Italy. His legacy will live on through his children and grandchildren.
A Catholic Mass is scheduled for 10am on Thursday at St. Bartholomew’s RC Church in East Brunswick under the direction of the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin. Burial will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a charitable donation be made to https://www.als.org/ in his honor.
