Obituary for Phyllis Zulin

Phyllis “Maggie” Zulin (nee Ondar) peacefully passed away on February 13, 2021 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge, surrounded by her beloved daughters. Born on February 20, 1931 in Perth Amboy to the late Anna (Yanock) and John Ondar, she was a long-time resident of South Amboy and later Marlboro.

Maggie loved to spend time with her four children and six grandchildren. She loved to embroider, bake, watch soap operas, and always enjoyed a good puzzle.

Maggie is predeceased her beloved siblings Joseph, Julia, Bertha, John, Helen, Pete, Josie, Glory, and Lois. Surviving are her four children and their spouses Karen Koczrowski, Paul and Kathleen Zulin, Michele and Bill Weissman, and Eileen and Larry Kovacs. Choo Choo Nan/Nanny loved her grandchildren and their spouses Jodie and Will Towns, Jill Zulin, Will and Samantha Weissman, Daniel and Melissa Weissman, Greg Weissman, and Caitlin Kovacs. She was overjoyed with her three great-grandchildren Morgan Towns, Alexandra Weissman, and Emily Weissman. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.

Please join us in celebrating her life on Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin. A funeral mass will take place at 11am on Saturday at St. Mary’s RC Church in South Amboy with burial to follow at Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy.
