Obituary for Peter Raccuia

Parlin
Peter Raccuia, age 67, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, suddenly passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born and raised in Hoboken, NJ to the late Peter and Theresa Raccuia, Peter settled in Sayreville more than 33 years ago, where he helped raise a family of his own. Before his retirement, Peter worked as an electrician with Laiken Electric in Hoboken and Extended Stay Hotel in Red Bank.

Peter was very handy; he loved all types of woodworking, often making cornhole boards for friends and family. He enjoyed travelling with his wife and daughter, going on many cruises and long road trips over the years. He also enjoyed watching the Yankees, Giants, and Devils and playing pickleball in his spare time. However, there was nothing more important to him than his wife and daughter. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Peter is predeceased by his parents, by his brother Anthony Raccuia, by his brother-in-law John Vesey, and his mother-in-law Frances Bruno. Surviving is his beloved wife of 41 years Helen Bruno-Raccuia of Parlin; his loving daughter Jordan Raccuia of Parlin and her partner Vincent Guarino; his sisters Elizabeth Musto of Secaucus and Josephine Vesey of Freehold; his brother and sister-in-law Michael and Madeline Raccuia of Secaucus; his aunt, Florence Quinzel of Hendersonville, NC; his dog and cats Jackson, Percy, and Chloe; as well as many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Calling hours are scheduled on Monday from 3pm to 7pm at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with services taking place at 5pm. A private cremation will follow.

More than 10 years ago, Peter had complications with his heart and kidneys. He was afforded more time by the kindness of an organ donor. To further honor Peter’s life, please consider signing up as a future organ donor with the NJ Sharing Network at www.njsharingnetwork.org or by making a memorial contribution in his name to the American Kidney Fund at www.kidneyfund.org/ways-give.
