Pedro M. Cervantes, age 87 of the Parlin section of Sayreville passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at the Venetian Care Center in South Amboy. Born in the Dominican Republic, he was raised in Puerto Rico and had resided in Parlin since 2015. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. Before his retirement Pedro was employed as a landscaper by the New York City Housing Authority in Manhattan for 20 years and prior to that, he was a Foreman for Handy Bag Industries in the garment district for 20 years. He was an avid sports fan, he enjoyed playing dominoes and especially loved spending time with his beloved family, who will miss him dearly.

He is predeceased by his parents Belisario and Maria Cervantes and his wife Betsaida. Surviving are his children Peter Cervantes of Brewster, NY, Betsey Cervantes of Brooklyn, NY and Migdalia Licitra and her husband Joseph of Parlin and his grandchildren Anissa, Jason, Sierra and Nicholas.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin from 12pm to 4pm. Masks are required while in the building. Completed arrangements, condolence messages and directions may be found by visiting www.spezzifuneralhome.com.
