Patrick Byrne, age 60 of Matawan passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. Born in Newark he had resided in Colonia for 15 years before moving to Matawan 3 years ago. He was employed since 2000 by CBRE in Raritan as an Operations and Maintenance Engineer. Pat was an avid boater and fisherman, he loved playing the bagpipes and was a member of the Ironbound Irish American Association of Newark.
He is predeceased by his parents William and Gloria and by his siblings Richard, William, Marilyn and Gerald. Surviving are his loving children Joseph Byrne and Noel Byrne and her fiancé Shawn Douma, his adoring granddaughter Peyton and his siblings and their spouses Eileen and Johnny Hromoko, Gloria Byrne Mitchell, Lorraine and Joseph Lynch, Paul Byrne, and Joseph Sr and Vilma Byrne, his sister-in-law Jane Byrne and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday 8:45am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with a 9:30am Mass at St Bernadette RC Church in Parlin. A private cremation will follow.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday from 4pm to 8pm.
