Obituary for Norman Rosenblum

Norman Rosenblum, 79, passed away on July 29th, 2022 after an almost 6 year battle with cancer. He leaves behind Phyllis, his loving wife of 55 years; his daughter Jodi, her husband Angelo, and Norman’s beloved granddaughters Sabrina and Bridgain; daughter Amy, her parter Eileen, and her son Ronnie; his sister Rita; and many, many more beloved cousins and friends.

Norman was born in August of 1942 in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. He served in the Army Reserve with many childhood friends. While enlisted he met Phyllis Fast. They married in 1967 and moved to New Jersey in 1969 to begin their family. Norman became a dad in 1971 and again in 1973. His shining moment was in 2006 when Sabrina was born and he became a grandfather for the first time. He was delighted with the addition of older grandchildren when Ronnie and Bridgain joined the family.

After his discharge from the Army, Norman worked a variety of jobs to support his family. This included being a salesman for a variety of air freight companies, which ultimately led to being the president of his own company. This hard work and dedication afforded Phyllis and Norman the opportunity to fulfill Norman’s lifelong dream of owning a home on the water. Norman was delighted to show off his house, dock, and water view in Florida. Throughout his years of working Norman worked with many people, most of whom he continued to speak with until his finals days. He considered these people his friends and extended family.

Norman loved to share his experiences, ideas, and wisdom with his loved ones. Much of that advice will be missed by many.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Monday, August 1st at Carmen Spezzi Funeral Home at 15 Cherry Lane in Parlin, New Jersey.
