Obituary

Parlin
She Lived Life “In the Moment”

Nancy Ann Sheola, age 58, entered eternal life on November 2, 2019 with her family by her side. Her joyous personality, selfless and giving nature warmed every heart she touched.
Nancy was born on June 14, 1961 in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Dorothy (O’Brien) and Robert Sohler. She was a graduate of Kean University and worked at Prudential Financial in Newark for over 38 years. Along with her husband and children, she volunteered at Camp Fatima, a camp for individuals with developmental disabilities, for over a decade.

Nancy loved traveling with family, romance novels, dining on the water and an occasional casino adventure. She enjoyed planning gatherings and kept an active social calendar with family, beloved cousins and friends. She was an excellent cook and would often prepare elaborate and plentiful buffets with ease to the delight of her family and co-workers. She inspired many as she bravely faced her battle with cancer with relentless optimism and embraced the phrase “Live Every Moment, Laugh Every Day, Love Beyond Words.”

Nancy is survived by her beloved husband David of 36 years, daughter Kelly Ann Corbett and husband Matthew of New Port Richey, FL; son Brian of Windermere, Fl; brother Robert Sohler and wife Bernadette of Colonia, NJ; nephews Daniel Sohler and fiancé Chelsea L. Fox of Haddon Twp., NJ, Robert Sohler and girlfriend Elizabeth Tyler of Windermere, FL; and mother-in-law Roseanne Sheola of Toms River, NJ along with treasured aunts, uncles, cousins, and cherished friends. All those she loved were better for it.

Visitors and friends are invited to celebrate Nancy’s life on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, between 4pm and 8pm at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin, NJ with a funeral mass on Thursday, November 7 at 10:30am to be held at St. Bernadette’s R.C. Church in Parlin, NJ. A private cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy’s honor may be made to the American Cancer Society or Camp Fatima of New Jersey. Completed arrangements, letters of condolence, and directions may be found by visiting www.spezzifuneralhome.com

We've only known Nancy for the past few years, since her wonderful daughter met & married Matthew, but she left a lasting impression. She was friendly, loving, generous, a joy to be around. I could go on and on. We will miss her very much. She will live on in our memories and we will endeavor to live life to the fullest to honor her. Till we meet again......

I am honored to have met and worked with Nancy during the early years of my career. We’ve kept in touch over the past 16+ years as my role changed. Nancy was such a warm, loving person who always cared about everyone around her. I will forever treasure the memories we had going out to lunch together and catching up on life. You will be dearly missed, my friend and your memories will live on forever

I have so many fond memories of Nancy from my Pru days. I often ran into her at Penn Station in recent years. One day we were on the train together and it went right past my stop and Nancy was laughing so hard. We then passed her stop and ended up sitting on the bench at the train station waiting for the next train back as we both were on the wrong train! We could not stop laughing. I have so many wonderful memories that I will cherish forever. Nancy always lived life to the fullest. I was so lucky to have known her. Until we meet again...
