Myrtle “Sis” Gerba age 87 of Brick, passed away peacefully at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune on Friday, December 29, 2023, with her loving family by her side. Born in Rahway she resided in New Jersey all her life. She graduated in 1954 from Woodbridge High School. She married the love of her life Albert in 1955. Before her retirement, Myrtle worked as an Avon representative for 35 years. She will be remembered by her love of family, her smile and her infectious laugh. She was funny and LOVED a good joke. She cherished her 3 grandchildren with every cell in her body. She loved old time country music. She could tell a story like no one else. She had many lifelong friends near and far that she enjoyed keeping in touch with. She will be missed but never forgotten.

She is predeceased by her parents William & Myrtle Dafcik. Surviving is her adored husband of 68 years Albert as well as children Scott Gerba & wife Doreen and Jill Chrysanthopoulos & her husband Alex, her grandchildren Kristopher, Traci, and Luke as well as her sister Carolyn and husband Carl Schultz, her nieces Donna Sharon and Kelly Maloney and a host of cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4pm to 7pm. Funeral services will take place on Thursday 12pm from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Ln, Parlin. A burial will follow at Hazelwood Cemetery in Rahway. In lieu of flowers donated can be made to St Jude’s Research Hospital in Myrtles name.
