Mona L. McGrath, age 61, of South Amboy, suddenly passed away at her home on Friday, January 6, 2023. Born and raised in Sayreville, Mona was a lifelong resident of the borough. After graduating from Sayreville High School, Mona attended Middlesex Community College. She was an excellent athlete and excelled at both basketball and softball in high school and college. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Mona is predeceased by her beloved husband Patrick McGrath and by her father Robert William Hickson. Surviving is her dear mother Inge Hickson of NC; her loving sisters and their husbands Susan and Peter “Steve” Gazeko of NC, and Cathy and Lou Gemo of NC; her nephews and nieces Craig Gemo of East Brunswick, Lauren and her husband Patrick Warren of Spotswood, Justin and his wife Melissa Gazeko of Edison, and Jillian Gazeko of Parlin; her great-nieces and great-nephews Avinn, Jackson, and Kayden; as well as many other loving family and friends.
