Obituary for Michael A Fiorentino

Michael A. Fiorentino, age 70 of Sayreville passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at his home. Born in Jersey City he had resided in Sayreville for over 35 years. Mike cherished his family. He was a dedicated husband, father, and father-in-law. Most of all, he was a proud grandfather of five. Nothing made him happier than having his family together.

When his children were younger, he volunteered to coach many of their different baseball and soccer teams. We could often find him in the kitchen, preparing his famous dishes (and making sure he always had something special for the little ones). There was never a cooking question he couldn't answer. He had an interest in cars, especially his favorite, the Challenger. He was an avid Yankee fan and enjoyed attending games with friends and family. He always found a project to keep him busy, and never hesitated to help his sons fix, build, or renovate their own homes. In addition to his commitment to his loved ones, he ran his own distribution business for Pepperidge Farms.

He is predeceased by his parents Angelo & Rose Fiorentino. Surviving is his wife of 45 years Merrie, his sons & their spouses Michael Jr & Holly, Matthew & Jamie and Adam & Melissa, his grandchildren Leah, Benjamin, Andrew, Jacquelyn and Morgan, as well as sisters & their spouses Rosemary & Nicholas DiGennaro and Annmarie & Paul Bucci, his sister-in-law Elizabeth McFadden & husband Michael and Thomas Corcoran and a host of loving cousins, friends and neighbors.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, 4pm to 8pm at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin. A funeral mass will take place on Thursday at Our Lady of Victories in Sayreville at 10am. A private cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Michael’s name to American Cancer Society P.O. Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741. Complete arrangements, directions to the funeral home and letters of condolence to the family may be found by visiting www.spezzifuneralhome.com.
