Michael J. Comerford, Sr., age 82, of the Parlin section of Sayreville peacefully passed away at his home on Thursday, September 19, 2019 surrounded by his dear family and friends. Born and raised in New York City, Michael had resided in Parlin for nearly 50 years, helping raise and care for his family. Before his retirement, Mr. Comerford was a General Manager for Fireside Industries in Moonachie, NJ. He was a true family man who loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Michael will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Michael is predeceased by his beloved wife Patricia (Patsy), his parents James and Bridie Comerford, and brother Jim Comerford. Surviving are his loving children and their spouses Michael, Jr. and Mary of Parlin, Joanne & Derek Young of Parlin, Ken and Norma of East Brunswick, Pat & Ken Boyle of East Brunswick, Jim & Cindy of Parlin, and Kevin and Molly of Parlin; his 14 wonderful grandchildren Allison (Brian), Derek, Bryan (Naomy), Leann (Joe), Colleen (Terrance), Erin (Andrew), Megan (Chaz), Sean, Jimmy (Katie), Steven, Amy (John), Katie (Ben), Sarah (Nick), and Ryann (Matt); his 5 wonderful great-grandchildren Luna, Lucas, Liam, Finn, and Norah; as well as many loving brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday at 8:45am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane Parlin with a 9:30am at St. Bernadette’s RC Church. Entombment will immediately follow at St. James Mausoleum in Woodbridge.
