Obituary for Matthew Paul Sammon

Matthew Sammon (56), born in South Amboy, NJ. He passed away peacefully at his home in Englishtown, NJ, on March 3, 2022 after a 3-year battle with cancer. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend and neighbor. “Matt” was a blessing to all who knew him and even to those who did not. Matt never knew a stranger and exuded kindness to all, whether checking out with a coffee, sitting at one of his favorite diners, such as Manalapan Luncheonette (Tony’s), painting a house or in the halls of the schools of East Windsor District he kept clean. Matt was an inspiration of faith and persistence to all who participated with him in his battle. He will be so greatly missed on this earth and has taken a little piece of each of us with him to heaven where we are confident he now rests.

He is predeceased by parents John & Margaret Sammon. Matt is survived by his loving partner Lorraine Gustafson, siblings: John (Alice) Sammon, Mark (Joan) Sammon, Monica (Gary) Delks, Mary Sammon, Barbara Sammon & Jennifer (Lawrence) Weymouth, his nieces and nephews: Katherine Sammon, Kyle Sammon, Kevin Sammon, Grace Sammon, Margaret Lane, Jonathan Delks, Rebekah Arnott, Dawson Delks, Aidan Weymouth, Henri Weymouth and 4 great nieces and nephews. Matt left behind so many loving cousins and friends, whose lives will always carry a memory of him. He might be gone but will never be forgotten. Matthew Sammon has left a legacy in our world of kindness and generosity.
