Obituary for Mary Thomson (Hengemuhle)

East Brunswick
Mary Thomson, age 90 peacefully passed away on Saturday, May 4th, 2024 at the Care One Assisted Living Center in East Brunswick. Born in Teaneck New Jersey, she would later move to Old Bridge where she and her husband raised a loving family. Mary was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, a caring wife and good friend. She worked for many years at Memorial Medical Center in South Amboy and was a Eucharistic Minister for Saint Bernadette’s Roman Catholic Church. She will be remembered for her love of reading, her awesome chocolate chip cookies and her devotion to her faith and family.

Mary is predeceased by her parents William and Nora Hengemuhle, her brother Joe Hengemuhle, her sons Kevin and Matthew Thomson and her husband of 70 years Donald Thomson. Surviving are her daughters Barbara and James Didia, and Nancy and James Kane, her sons Peter and Barbara Thomson, Jeffery Thomson, Thomas and Donna Thomson, Kenneth and Renee Thomson, her brother William Hengemuhle, and her sister Anne Hoey. Also surviving are her 16 grandchildren and her 10 great-grandchildren.

Calling hours at the Funeral Home will be Tuesday from 3pm until 7pm at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin, NJ 08859

Funeral services will take place at 9:30am on Wednesday at Saint Bernadette’s Church located on Villanova and Princeton Roads, Parlin, NJ. A burial will follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery in East Brunswick NJ.
