Obituary for Mary Lou Guthmiller (Gunning)
Whiting
Mary Lou Guthmiller, age 81 of Whiting, passed away Wednesday March 20, 2019 at AristaCare in Whiting. Born in East Orange, she had lived in Whiting for the past 18 years. Before her retirement, Mary Lou worked for United Counties Trust in Cranford and was also a crossing guard for Linden High School. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Whiting.
She is predeceased by her son Brendan in 2002 and her brothers John and Bob Gunning.
Surviving are her loving husband of 48 years, Harry, her sons and their wives John and Cecelia of Phillipsburg, Brian and Yuviza of Sayreville, her daughter in law Ama Korkor of Monroe Twp, her grandchildren Nicole, Daniel, Ford, John Thomas, & Christopher, her great-granddaughter Lilly, her sister Patricia McLaughlin and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin will be Saturday from 2pm to 6pm. A private cremation will follow.
A memorial mass and inurnment of cremated remains will take place Saturday March 30, 2019 at 10:45am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Whiting.
