Obituary for Mary Dombrowski (Doran)

Mary (Doran) Dombrowski, 91, went to be with the Lord and her beloved husband
Ziggie at home in Sayreville, on Friday May 5, 2023,. Born to her mother Rose Szegeti and father John Doran on September 8, 1931, in South River. She was the youngest of 8 children who survived to adulthood. Upon her marriage to Zigmunt Dombrowski on the celebrated day of June 11, 1955. Mary moved to Sayreville. They remained married
for 67 amazing years, until the passing of Ziggie on April 20, 2022.

Mary lived nearly all that time in the home Ziggie built on Weber Avenue, a home she loved and cherished. There they proudly raised their son, Kevin Dombrowski, and their
daughter, Patricia Brasfield. Kevin now resides in Hoboken, but Patricia returned from Nashville, to the family home, to care for both Parents as they finished out the last days of their lives.

Before her retirement, Mary worked as an administrative assistant with Renaissance Eyewear in Fords and with Bunzl Distribution in Edison. She remained active
throughout her full life. Her passions were ballroom dancing with her husband (she never missed an episode of Dancing With The Stars – or Murder She Wrote either), feeding
her family and friends – and of course, the many stray cats who showed up after
Sandy wrecked the neighborhood in 2012.

She was deeply attached to her community, volunteering with many causes to help make lives better. The list of her many accomplishments were, PTA President of St. Stanislaus Kostka School (and communicant of the Church), Mary was also named Mother of The Year. An avid participant of the Church’s Senior Citizens Club as well
the Sayreville Thursday Club. She also faithfully donated her time and skills for the Church’s annual carnival preparing food for decades.

Civically, she was also a long-time Columbiette. An active Middlesex County
Democratic Organization Committeewoman, she also served as a Precinct Captain.
Mary was befriended by many local officials and candidates to help garner support for issues, campaigns and elections.

She is predeceased by her parents John and Rose, and her beloved husband Ziggie.

Surviving are her children Kevin and Patricia, her sister Dorothy Grekoski, Her
extended family includes four generations of loving nieces, nephews and
their bountiful children. She will be dearly remembered and deeply missed
by all who knew Mary throughout her long and full life We can’t forget all the
lucky cats she cared for, but especially her precious Fluffy and Mookie who
are just heartbroken.


Services will be held Friday, May 12, beginning 10am at St. Stan's 225 MacArthur Ave. Sayreville
