Obituary for Mary D Dieckman (Huber)

Mary D. Dieckman, age 71 of the Parlin section of Sayreville passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Newark she had resided in Parlin for the past 45 years. Before her retirement she was the Owner and Operator of Mary D’s Deli in Sayreville for 5 years and previously she was employed by Dairy Stores Inc, where she was a District Manager for Krauszer Stores for 25 years. Mary was a member of the Ironbound Irish-American Association in Newark and the East Side High School Alumni Association in Newark.

She is predeceased by her parents Albert and Helen Huber and her brother Albert Huber. Surviving are her children and their spouses Rose and John Policastro-Stephens of South Amboy, Gennaro and Lori Nappi of Staten Island, Dawn Blazas and her fiancé Jeremy Ryan of Sayreville and Michael Dieckman of Sayreville, her grandchildren Damian, John-Tyler, Vincent, James and Matthew, her brother Robert and his wife Honey of Lindenhurst, NY, her sister-in-law Beverly Huber of South Plainfield, many nieces, nephews and cousins and her beloved granddog Max.

Funeral services will be held 10am Wednesday at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Mary’s name to Deborah Heart and Lung Center at www.deborahfoundation.org/donate.
