Obituary for Mark S Margres

Mark S. Margres, age 64 of Sayreville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born in Bayonne, raised in Old Bridge, and settled in Sayreville with his wife and children.

Mark was an All-American collegiate football player and Hall of Fame inductee at Bethany College in Lindsborg, KS. He received his Master’s degree from Missouri Southern State University and worked as a crisis counselor for Hackensack Meridian Health JFK University Medical Center for over 30 years. He was a Pop-Warner football coach, avid fossil collector, envied fisherman, published researcher, and a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Mark is predeceased by his parents John and Joan Margres, as well as his brother Matthew Margres. He is survived by his wife Robin Margres (Hintze), his children Jennifer Abney (Daniel Abney) and Mark Margres (Kristin Margres), and three beautiful grandchildren: Brielle Joan, Everly Ann, and Payton Rose. He is also survived by his siblings Jack Margres, Laura Widmer (Michael Widmer), sister-in-law Valerie Margres, and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of a wake and funeral service, a celebration of life will be held at a future date. Details will be provided at www.spezzifuneralhome.com when available.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Mark S. Margres, will take place on Saturday July 23rd at 4 pm in Monroe, NJ.
