Obituary for Margaret Smith (Johnson)

Margaret Johnson Smith, age 86, of Sayreville, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Jersey City, she had lived in Sayreville for over 50 years. Before her retirement, Marge worked as a deli manager for Wawa in Sayreville. She loved spending time with her family and playing Bingo. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Victories RC Church in Sayreville and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 4699 in Sayreville.
She is predeceased by her husband Eugene Smith and her brother Edward Foley.
Surviving are her children and their spouses Richard & Delia, Colleen & Robert Grobelny, Kathleen Smith & Joseph Arroyo, Kenneth & Jennifer, her grandchildren Ryan, Cara, Robert, Brandon, Tiffany and Evan, her siblings Thomas Foley, Kathleen Foley and Eileen Zacharczyk and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
Funeral services are scheduled for 9:15am on Saturday from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with 10am Mass at Our Lady of Victories RC Church. Burial will immediately follow at New Calvary Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home will take place on Friday from 4pm to 8pm. Due to COVID-19 regulations, please note that a maximum of 100 guests can be accommodated in the building at once. Masks must be worn at all times.
