Manuel Freire, age 84 of South River, passed away peacefully on Friday November 4, 2022, at home with his loving family by his side. Born in Portugal, he had resided in South River for over 35 years. Before his retirement, Manuel worked for Mapei Corp here in South River. Manuel was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and so much more.

He is predeceased by his parents Joao & Diamantina. Surviving is his beloved wife of over 61 years Maria, his children and their spouses Mario & his wife Regina and Tania & her husband Francisco, his grandchildren Rodrigo, Andre, Ricardo, Vanessa and Caroline, his 3 great-grandchildren, as well as his siblings Anacleto. Joao, Maria & Fatima and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be Friday 12pm at the Maliszewski Funeral Home 218 Whitehead Ave South River. A private cremation will follow. Calling hours at the funeral home will take place on Friday from 10am to 1pm.
