Louise Riozzi Iorillo, age 87 of Sayreville, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully Friday, February 4, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Manhattan, NY, she had lived in Sayreville for many years. Louise raised her three daughters with her loving husband and then worked as an office manager with GE in Woodbridge before her retirement. She loved to crochet and spent countless hours creating unique Christmas snowflakes and homemade bedspreads for her family and friends. Louise enjoyed baking and cooking and was famous for her delicious meatballs. Sunday dinner was a tradition. Everyone was welcome at dinner and at her home to enjoy the pool. She loved nothing more than celebrating the holidays with her family, cooking Italian dinners and gambling in Atlantic City. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Louise was the light in every room.
She is predeceased by her parents Antonio and Mary (Palumbo) Riozzi, her bother Louis Riozzi, her son-in-law Jeff Hornecker and her brother-in-law Charles “Lolly” Lucia.
She will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 68 years Christopher, her beloved children, Deborah Vincent and her husband Scott, Louise Hornecker, Lisa Iorillo and her partner Jeff Marchesi, her cherished grandchildren Jason, Justin, Mehgan, Heather, Lauren and her husband Dan, Eric and his wife Alison, Chelsea and her husband James, Cody, Dylan and his fiancé Alexa, 10 great-grandchildren, her sister and best friend, Therese “Terry” Lucia, and many loving nieces, and nephews. The family would like to thank Sandy, for the loving care she gave to Louise these last few months.
The family has requested that remembrances be made in Louise’s honor to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, as Louise was a breast cancer survivor.
Funeral services will be Thursday 8:30am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin, with a 9:30am Mass at Our Lady of Victories RC Church in Sayreville. A private cremation will follow.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm.
