Obituary for Leonard J Palumbo

Bridgewater
Leonard J. Palumbo, age 70 of Bridgewater, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at his home, with his loving wife and family by his side. Born in Newark, he was raised in Belleville and then lived in Neshanic Station for many years before recently moving to Bridgewater. Lenny worked for the Branchburg Board of Education as a School Bus Driver. For a person who did not “like” kids, he was loved by those on his bus. They loved their “Mr. Lenny.” He was also the former owner and operator of Piscataway Auto & Truck Repair.

In his earlier years, Lenny loved spending time down the shore with his family. He loved 50’s Doo-Wop music and tinkering with cars. He had a passion for fixing up cars. Most recently, he took up a hobby of buying and fixing up lawn mowers until they shined. Lenny really enjoyed this hobby with his son Jimmy (or Jimmy Joe as he sometimes called him). Lenny was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and so much more. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Lenny is predeceased by his wife Elaine Palumbo in 2011, his son James Palumbo in 2021 and his parents James and Dorothy Palumbo who loving referred to her son as “the king.”

Surviving is his wife Susan Palumbo (Blanken), his children and their spouses Len (Sherri) Palumbo of Groveland, FL, Dawn Palumbo of Whitehouse Station, NJ and Michelle Palumbo of Concord, MA, his 2 granddaughters Miranda Palumbo and Isabella Palumbo, his grandson Michael Gesario, his sister Donna (Michael) Pennabere of Howell, NJ, another sister, step-children Danel Allen, Madison Allen and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
