Lena Fairclough, age 92 of Parlin, passed away peacefully at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Valletta, Malta, she had lived in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Florida for many years. She moved to NJ last month. Before her retirement, Lee worked as a medical secretary for Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn NY for over 30 years. She kept very active and loved bowling and playing baci ball. She was a member of many clubs including: The Married Women’s Society, The Red Hat Society, Ladies Auxiliary of OLPH, The Irish Club, The Italian Club, and The Sailing Club.
She is predeceased by her husband Charles in 1985.
Surviving are her children Bob Fairclough and his wife Beth, Ellen Burns and her husband Pat, Terri Watters and her husband Pat, her grandchildren Chris Fairclough, Kelly Duffy and her husband Erin, Jules Burns, Kevin Burns, Ryan Watters and his wife Alexis, Meghan Torres and her husband Abby, her great-grandsons Aidan and Dylan Watters, her brother Joseph Glavin and many cousins, nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Funeral services will be Friday 8:30am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin with a 9:30am funeral mass to follow at St. Bernadette’s RC Church in Parlin. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Staten Island, NY.
