Obituary for Lauralee Alfrey

Sayreville
Lauralee Novak Alfrey, age 45 of Sayreville, passed away suddenly, Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge. Born in New Brunswick, she had lived most of her life in Sayreville. Lauralee was an amazing woman who loved giving back to the community. She was always giving of her time, talent, and treasure in so many ways. She was a Cub Scout den leader for pack 83, a former Girl Scout troop leader, a member of the Sayreville Lions Club, a past member of the South River Engine Co 1, a current secretary and past president of the Madison Park Ladies Auxillary, a past member and past president of the Helmetta Ladies Auxilary, the Ladies Auxilary of the Fireman of the State of NJ, a member of the Middlesex County Fire Ladies Auxilary and a Democratic Committeewoman for Sayreville. She was a para-professional with the Sayreville Board of Education. Lauralee was very creative and loved crafting and flowers. She could always be found with a smile on her face, a word of encouragement for a child, and a helping hand to a person in need. She truly was a bright light in the world.
She is predeceased by grandparents whom she adored James and Deloris Novak, her Aunt Barbara Cross, her Uncle Warren Novak and her best friend Laura Huxford.
Surviving are her loving husband Thomas, her cherished children Joshua and his girlfriend Heather Kuzma, Rebecca, William and Matthew, her mother and step-father Doris Novak and Angel Hoagland, her best friends Dawn Tresch, Susie Moore, and Cindy Mason, her father-in-law Tom Alfrey and his wife Denise, her mother-in-law Maria Johnson and her husband Michael and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
Calling hours at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin, will take place on Monday from 4pm to 8pm with services being offered in the evening. A private cremation will follow.
