Julio A. Montalvo, age 90 of Sayreville passed away peacefully on Friday, November 7, 2020 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. Born in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, he had resided in Sayreville, NJ since 1997. Before his retirement he was employed as a sorting clerk for the United States Postal Service in New York City for 27 years. Julio was a proud US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. He was a devoted husband and father who loved his girls. He will truly be missed by all his family and friends .

He is predeceased by his parents Armando and Luisa Montalvo; his great grandson Caiden and his 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Surviving are his loving wife of 64 years Carmen, his daughters Lillian Montalvo-Duffy and her husband Thomas Duffy of Jamesburg, NJ; Agnes Montalvo of Newtown, PA and Wilma Montalvo of Sayreville, NJ; his grandchildren Julie Marie Donovan, Zsea Aleixandra Ortiz, Laura Anne Cook, Cathy Bobbie Vargas, Antonio David Romero, Keegan Alberto Ortiz and Daniel Fernando Romero; his great grandchildren Amya, Connor, Christian, Cataleya, Kameron, Gary and Iyla Joy; his sisters Maria Fraticelli and Mary Guzman and her husband Angel; he had 27 nieces and nephews and many cousins.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 10:15am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with an 11am Mass at Our Lady of Victories RC Church in Parlin. Burial will follow at New Calvary Cemetery in Parlin.

Calling hours at the funeral home will Tuesday from 5pm to 9pm.
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, please note that a maximum of 100 visitors will be allowed inside the funeral home at once and masks must be worn at all times.
