Obituary for Josephine Gialanella

Josephine Vella Gialanella, age 98 of Manalapan, passed away peacefully, at her son’s home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Newark, she had lived in Manalapan for many years. Josephine was the proud owner and operator of Something Special Dress Shop in Livingston where she made beautiful dresses. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family and taking trips down to Atlantic City, especially with her sisters.
She is predeceased by her loving husband Victor, her son Victor, and her siblings Rose Pucci, Concetta Caccholi, Elvira Vella, Paula Fernicola and Paul Vella.
Surviving are her sons Michael and his wife Deborah, Paul and his wife Donna, her daughter-in-law Renee Gialanella, her grandchildren Nicholas Veni and his wife Laura, Donna Cianchetta, Paul, John, Victor and his wife Sara, Joseph and his wife Amy, Tara Cascarelli and her husband Michael, Patrick, Luke, Elizabeth, her great-grandchildren Gianna, Gaetano, Leona, Kiera, Renata, Samantha, Nate, Jijie, Robbie, Maya, Brianna, Max, Gavin and Kalee and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives who will miss her dearly.
Funeral services will be Monday 10:15am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane with an 11:30am Mass at St. Thomas More in Manalapan. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Freehold.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 1pm to 5pm.
