Obituary for Joseph J Walijeski

South River
Joseph J. Walijeski, age 78 of South River passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022 at his home. Born in Bloomfield he had resided in South River for the past 44 years. He was a proud US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. Before his retirement he was employed as a service technician for RCA/GE in Colonia for 30 years. Joseph enjoyed playing the guitar, singing and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend who will sadly be missed but his memory treasured forever.

He is predeceased by his parents Fred and Bernice, his sister Bernice Rakauskas and his grandson Glenn Barnhart. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Lorraine Romatowski Walijeski, his children Janine Walijeski of Skillman and Joseph Walijeski and his wife Dana of Millstone, his grandchildren, Eric Barnhart and his wife Cassie, Sabrina Barnhart and Rylie Walijeski, his great grandchildren Eric and Scarlett Barnhart, his siblings Fred Walijeski and his wife Ginny of AZ, Peter Walijeski and Robert Walijeski, both of Edison, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Pat and Rex Young of AZ, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 9:30am Thursday from the Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Ave, South River with a 10am Mass at St Mary of Ostrabrama RC Church in South River. Burial will follow at the NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown.
