Obituary for Joseph Licitra

Joseph Licitra, age 51, of Parlin passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Robert Wood Johnson. Born in Brooklyn, he settled in Parlin with his adored wife Migdalia where they started their family. Before his passing he was self-employed as a commodities trader. Joe enjoyed nothing more than being a husband and father. He was a basketball coach for his sons and was known for his outgoing personality. He was an active parishioner at St. Bernadettes where he volunteered there regularly. Joseph was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, friend and so much more. Words cannot describe how much he will be missed.

He is predeceased by his mother-in-law and father-in-law Betsaida & Pedro Cervantes. Surviving is his beloved wife of 24 years Migdalia, his much loved children Jason & Nicholas, his parents Joseph & Anna Licitra, his brother James and his wife Nina, his brother-in-law Peter Cervantes and sister-in-law Betsey Cervantes as well as his nieces and nephews Anissa, Sierra, Dylan, and Christian, his best friends Dennis Sweeney, Mike Fraser and John Robinson and a host of cousins, neighbors and friends.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday 10:15am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with a 11am Mass at St Bernadette’s Church in Parlin A burial will follow at New Calvary cemetery in Parlin.
