Obituary for Joseph Krainski

Joseph “Joe” Krainski, age 67, formerly of Sayreville, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, August 24,
2023 at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, DE, with his loving family at his side. Born in New Brunswick to the
late Joseph Sr. and Ruth Krainski, Joe was raised in Sayreville and later lived in Monroe Township before
retiring to Delaware 2 years ago. He was so proud of building their family home as his own general
contractor in Monroe Township, where he and his family resided for 20 years. Joe was known for always
having his saw going building decks, pergolas, and paved landscaping for Donna’s flowers. He enjoyed
his own large vegetable gardens, forever fighting the wildlife and attempting to deter them from eating
his crops. After attending St. Stanislaus Kostka Elementary School and Sayreville War Memorial High
School, he also attended DeVry Institute, where he studied drafting. He and his wife married on
September 29, 1979, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Sayreville, building a life together with their 3
children. He later worked as a Designer for Middlesex Container in Milltown, Squire, Long Island
Container in Linden, and Metaverse in South Brunswick before his recent retirement.

Joe was very active in his children’s lives as a coach for their basketball, hockey, and soccer teams. He
also played basketball, football, and participated in bowling and softball leagues with saltwater fishing
as his true passion. He enjoyed his years with St. Stan’s Athletic Association and of course the annual
summer carnival beer tent, seeing all our family and friends. Joe was a loving husband, father, brother,
uncle, and friend and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Joe is predeceased by his parents and by his sister Karen Herrel. Surviving is his beloved wife of 43 years
Donnamarie Krainski (Stawinski) of DE; his loving children Michelle Cummings and her husband Erik of
Evesham, NJ; Amy Leigh Krainski and her fiancée Bryan Whitman of North Arlington; Joseph Colin
Krainski of Cranbury; his dear grandsons Brody and Finn; his sisters Donna Sorbino and husband Ed of
Monroe Township, NJ; Barbara Pugner and husband Michael of Monroe Township; his brother in law,
Stanley John Stawinski and wife Anne of Sayreville; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, family, and
dear friends.
