Obituary for Joseph J. Clark

Joseph J. Clark
Parlin
Joseph J. Clark, age 65 years, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2020, peacefully at home. He was born in Elizabeth and was a lifelong resident of Parlin. Before his retirement he worked for Middlesex County in the Microfilm Department. Joseph was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. His sudden passing has left us with broken hearts.

Joseph will be remembered for his amazing love of sports especially baseball, music and movies. He was a die-hard Mets fan. Joseph defended his team like no other. He knew every stat, player biographies and could recall specific games when you got him going about his favorite team.
Joseph’s love for music included all genres. His all-time favorite band was, “The Allman Brothers”, although years back he could be caught listening to Johnny Cash or AC/DC.

Joseph had the most amazing collection of sports guides, as well as books about sports and history. He had a music collection ranging from vinyl to single CD’s and box sets of every artist imaginable. Joseph’s baseball hat collection was in the hundreds. He prided himself in his collections and displayed them throughout his house.
Joseph loved to engage in a bit of trivia as he showed off his knowledge of sports, history, music and movies.

Years back, Joseph enjoyed his trips to the Jersey shore to his sister’s summer home and to visit his family in North Carolina. His trips to NC included concerts, and enjoying a fireball or two at his Brother Daniel’s restaurant and pub. If Joseph met you for the first time, you immediately became his friend.

Joseph will be missed for his genuine kindness, compassion for others and his many texts during the day to check in on everyone. He loved to connect with family and friends sharing pictures of his great niece Sophia and great nephew Carter. Joseph was looking forward to seeing Carter turning one.

He is predeceased by his parents Frederick J. and Margaret Bonner Clark as well as his brother Matthew Clark, his loving Aunt Ann Bonner, Aunt Mary and Uncle Edward Grogan, Cousin Daniel Grogan and grandparents Bridget and Daniel Bonner.
Joseph is survived by his brother Daniel and sister-in-law Diane, loving sister Margaret Clark-Hill and brother-in-law Kenneth. He will be missed by his Aunt Beatrice Bonner. He is also survived by several cousins and his close family friend, Patrick.
The joy of his life were his nieces and nephews Daniel Clark, Jamie Clark, Eric and Ashley Hill, Amy (Hill) and Matthew Lovendusky. He loved to brag about his great niece, Sophia Clark and his newest joy Carter Hill.

Due to our current world circumstances our immediate family will bid farewell to Joseph on Saturday, March 28 2020. We ask everyone to keep us in your prayers and to crank up the Allman Brothers in memory of our “Rambling Man”.

“Blue Skies” Joe. …. Until we meet again. Toodle Loo
