Obituary for Jordan M Montanaro

Jordan M. Montanaro, age 79 of the Parlin section of Sayreville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Old Bridge Medical Center. Born in New York City, NY, he had resided in Sayreville for the past 38 years. Before his retirement he was employed by Hudson Sheet Metal as a shop steward/welder with the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 28 for 42 years. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Victories RC Church in Sayreville. He was a sports fan, particularly enjoying football, baseball and hockey. His greatest joy was watching his sons play. He was a singer and musician and preferred listening to doo-wop music. Jordan was an active member of the Sayreville Seniors Thursday Club where he enjoyed being in charge of decorating, playing pool and bingo and was always willing to give anyone a helping hand. He was a wonderful family man. His memory will be cherished forever as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will truly be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He is predeceased by his parents Anthony and Tessie Montanaro. Surviving are his wife of 40 years; Paula Damiano Montanaro, his sons; Anthony Montanaro and his wife Beth and Michael Montanaro, his grandsons; Frank and Mitchell Montanaro, his brother; Joseph Montanaro and his wife Linda, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11:45am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home with a 12:30pm Mass at Our Lady of Victories Church in Sayreville. A private cremation will follow.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday from 3pm to 7pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Jordan’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
