Obituary for John C Stoddard
Sayreville
John C. Stoddard age 67 of Sayreville passed away Saturday January 9, 2016 at Saint Peters University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Staten Island, New York he had lived in Sayreville for the past 56 years. Mr. Stoddard was the owner of Material Handling Technologies in South River for the past 25 years and prior to that Ferdon Equipment in Union for 20 years. John was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the Sea Bees was a member of the Sayreville Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post 4699, National American Legion Post 1000, and Garden State Vintage Stock Car Club.
He is predeceased by his parents Raymond & Signe Stoddard and his brother Raymond Stoddard. Surviving are his wife of 45 years Joan Parks Stoddard, his daughter Lisa Michallis and her husband Christopher of Point Pleasant, his grandchildren Matthew and Kayla Michallis, and his siblings Richard, George, Sonja and Veronica.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin followed by a 9:30am mass at Our Lady of Victories R.C. Church in Sayreville with private cremation to follow. Burial of Johns Cremated Remains with full military honors will be held Friday January 22, 2016 at 1pm at New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, N.J.
Calling hours Tuesday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations in John’s name be made to the Wounded Worriers Project or Our Lady of Victories School.
