Obituary for John L Kuhlthau

John L. Kuhlthau (aka “Pops”), age 85 of Sayreville, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 at the Menlo Park Veterans Memorial Home. Born in Perth Amboy, John was a lifelong resident of Sayreville. John worked for Exxon as a pipefitter for many years. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Victories Church in Sayreville. John was a 4th Degree Knight with the KoC 2061. Mr. Kuhlthau was a proud Marine Veteran. He loved fishing, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and so much more. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is predeceased by his parents John & Irene Kuhlthau as well as sister Deborah Murphy and brother George Kuhlthau.

Surviving is his wife Flora of 56 years, his son John J. & wife Cheryl Kuhlthau, his grandchildren Lindsey Kuhlthau, Jason Summerer, and George Sinka and many nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be Friday 8:45am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin with a 9:30am funeral Mass at St. Stanislaus Church in Sayreville. A private cremation will follow.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 3pm to 7pm.

Randolph St .Ste 225 Arlington, VA 22203 or please take your family fishing in honor of Pops. Due to Covid-19 regulations, there is a limit of 100 guests allowed in the building at once and masks must be worn at all times.
