John G. Georgas age 88 of the Parlin section of Sayreville passed away Sunday November 8, 2015 at his home with his loving and devoted family at his side. Born in Agios Isidoros, Rhodes Greece, he resided in Center Township Pennsylvania before moving to Parlin in 1970. Mr. Georgas was a self employed custom tailor and dry cleaning operator for over 50 years, retiring from his business, Fashion Care Cleaners, in Edison in 1996. John was a Free and Accepted Mason and a member of Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Perth Amboy where he was the Father of The Year in 2006, a member of the St Demetrios Senior Citizens Club and Pan Rhodian Society.

He is predeceased by his parents George & Maria Georgas and his sister Annoula Kyriakoulis. Surviving are his wife of 62 years Marian Vonakis Georgas, his children and their spouses George J & Ann M. Georgas, Sam J. & Lisa M. Georgas and Sandra & Daniel Bistrimovich all of Parlin, his grandchildren Alyssa Marie Bistrimovich and John Michael Georgas and his siblings Anastasios Georgas of Ft Lee, Theoniki Seitis of Parlin and Artemis Gagis of Fairlawn.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 10am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin followed by a 11am service at St Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Perth Amboy with burial to follow at Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm. Panastas services will be held Tuesday 7pm at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in John's name be made to the Sayreville Brain Injured Children's Association or St Demetrios G.O.
