Johanna M. Sevell Cordes, age 81 of Parlin, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Hackensack Hospital in Old Bridge. Born in Jersey City, she had resided in Parlin for over 60 years. She was a former member of the Catholic Daughters. Johanna worked as a Tupperware saleswoman in the 1970s. She also worked for the Home News and at Jacqueline’s Florist, which her daughter owns and operates. None of these jobs however, brought her as much joy as simply being “Mom-Mom”. She took great pride in nurturing and caring for her family. To Johanna, there was nothing better than being together with the ones she loved.
She is predeceased by her parents Walter and Anna Sevell, her brothers Norman “Dutch” and Walter Sevell and her son-in-law James Moran.
Surviving are her loving husband of 62 years, William, her beloved daughters and their spouses Kathleen Mastorio, Jacqueline and Joseph Julian, Laura Moran, Suzanne and Michael Anan, her cherished grandchildren First Class Petty Officer William Mastorio US Navy Blue Angels, Jennifer and Jesse Mastorio, James Jr. and Jamie Moran, William and Joseph Anan, and her great-grandchildren Mason, Mackenzie and Jaxon Pluff.
Funeral services are private, entrusted to the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin, NJ.
