Obituary for Joan Kirk (Stores)
Joan Stores Kirk, age 89 of Sayreville passed away peacefully on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Sunrise Assisted Living in East Brunswick. Born in Sayreville she was a lifelong borough resident. Before her retirement she was employed as an assembly worker for Parkway Fabricators in South Amboy. Joan was a communicant of Our Lady of Victories RC Church in Sayreville, a member of the Sayreville VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 4699 and the Sayreville Seniors Tuesday Club.
She is predeceased by her parents Clarence and Otilia Stores, her husband Albert and her son Albert Jr., 5 sisters and 1 brother. Surviving are her children and their spouses Nancy and Nicholas Steprans of Toms River, John and Lisa Kirk of Martinsburg, WV, Ron Kirk and Timothy Powell of Morristown, Lisa and Richard Starek of Sayreville and Kim Schmidt of South Brunswick, 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, her daughter-in-law Maryann Kirk of CA and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 8:45am on Friday from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with a 9:30am Mass at Our Lady of Victories RC Church in Sayreville. Burial will follow at New Calvary Cemetery in Parlin.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be held on Thursday from 5pm to 8pm. Please note that due to COVID-19 limitations, a maximum of 100 guests will be allowed in the building at once and masks must be worn at all times.
