Obituary for Jerry Russ
Parlin
Jerry Russ, age 75, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, peacefully passed away at his home on Monday, March 1, 2021. Born in Cottondale, FL to the late Alice Russ, Jerry has lived in Parlin for many years. Before his retirement, he worked as a driver for UPS in Parsippany. During his time living in senior housing in Parlin, Jerry helped many of those around him by cooking for them, driving friends to the supermarket and doctor’s appointments, and helping fellow seniors obtain their medicine. He was a very kind man and an incredible help to all those who could not help themselves. Jerry also loved fishing in his spare time and was an encouraging, positive man to his family. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Jerry is predeceased by his siblings Leola White, Samuel Russ, Anatine Fluellen, and Mary Larry. Surviving is his son Antoine Russ and daughter Maya Machacon and her husband Raymund; his grandchildren Aneisha, Jaylen, and Myshe’; great-grandson Carter Jacob; sister Betty Palmer; nephews Bernardo Bellamy and Mike Larry; his great-niece Minnie Lee Goines; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitors are welcome to celebrate Jerry’s life on Wednesday from 12pm to 4pm at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin. A future burial will take place at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. Completed arrangements, letters of condolence to the family, and directions may be found by visiting www.spezzifuneralhome.com.
