Obituary for Jean Stephanie Dieker (Pollman)

Jean Stephanie Dieker, age 72, of South Amboy peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Pottsville, PA, Jean lived the rest of her life in South Amboy. She worked as a waitress in many restaurants in the area, but her true calling was as a wonderful mother, always putting her family first. She had tremendous strength balanced by a deep warmth. She was a gentle person with a quick sense of humor and was often generous to a fault. She was responsible and hard working with an adventurous spirit and playful demeanor, and anything she did, she did in a way that was entirely her own. She loved spending her time engrossed in a book or a movie, was passionate about good food and loved the Jersey shore. She loved children most of all. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Jean is predeceased by her parents Robert and Josephine Pollman. Surviving are her daughter Jessica Pollman and husband Keith Free of PA, and son Damian Pollman of Carteret; her husband Jim Dieker of South Amboy; her loving granddaughter Lorelei Free of PA; brother Michael Pollman and his wife Joanne and sister Patricia Pollman, both of Carteret; as well as many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will take place on Tuesday from 5pm to 8pm at The Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin, NJ.

Memorial donations may be made in Jean’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org/donate. Letters of condolence, completed funeral details and directions may be found by visiting www.spezzifuneralhome.com.
