Obituary for Janet Lou Barneburg

Janet Lou Barneburg age 69 of Parlin, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021 in Old Bridge. Born in Jersey City, Janet moved to Parlin with her family in 1954 at the age of 3. Janet was a proud Navy Veteran and spent the majority of her enlistment years at Naval Air Station, Key West, Florida. She was honorably discharged in 1977. Janet also worked for AT&T as a project manager and retired after 30 years of service in 2001. Janet was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church and an Auxiliary Member of Sayreville VFW Post 4699 and the President Park Fire Department. Janet was an avid New York Yankees and Miami Dolphins fan and loved all sports in general. Janet was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, adopted grandmother, friend and neighbor. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Janet is predeceased by her parents Frank H and Grace Barneburg as well as her brother Frank R. Barneburg. Janet is survived by her siblings Cheryl Franks of Phoenix, Arizona, Beverly Kosakowski of East Hampton, Massachusetts and Lois Holder and her husband Ed Holder of Dumfries, Virginia, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews, friends and neighbors.

A memorial service will be held Sunday April 25, 2021 from 2pm - 5pm at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin, NJ. A mass will take place Monday April 26th at 11am at Our Lady of Victories Church in Sayreville with a burial to follow at New Calvary Cemetery in Parlin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in honor of Janet to the Sayreville Little League and Sayreville Girls Little League, PO Box 123, Parlin, New Jersey 08859.
