Obituary for Jane Chaplin (Martin)

Jane Chaplin (Martin)

Mrs. Jane M. Chaplin, of Parlin, N.J., beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, mother-in-law and friend, passed away on February 14, 2016 at the age of 82.
Jane was born on June 15, 1933 to Bernard and Ann B. Martin in Brooklyn, N.Y. She grew up as the youngest of four and attended Bay Ridge all-girls High School. On June 2, 1957, she married Joseph E. Chaplin and the couple had four children. Jane was a full-time mother and was also very active in the local community. She was the primary reason her town did not get an incinerator, she successfully taught stop-smoking classes and locally volunteered in many other areas for the success of the town. She was also very proud and delighted to be a Den Mother for Pack 97.
Jane is predeceased by her parents Bernard & Ann Martin and her sister Ann Blanchet. Jane is survived by her husband of 58 years, Joseph E. Chaplin, her two daughters and their spouses, Susan H. & Gary Fisher and Karen & Kim Andersen; her two sons, Richard E. Chaplin and Robert J. Chaplin; her brothers, James Martin and Robert Martin; and three grandchildren Alyssa Chaplin, Emma Andersen and Kristian Andersen.
There will not be a viewing. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 20 at 9:30am at St. Stanislaus Kostka RC Church, 225 MacArthur Avenue, Sayreville, NJ. The family is grateful for the condolences, and respectfully requests in lieu of flowers, as Jane was a lover of animals – a small donation to your favorite animal rescue would be an honor. Letters of condolence may be sent to the family at spezzifuneralhome.com or at their home.
