Morgan
James R. McLean, age 36 of Morgan, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022. Born in New Brunswick, he has lived in Morgan his entire life. He was a proud boilermaker with Union Local 28 in East Hampton for many years. Jim was a graduate of Sayreville War Memorial High School, class of 2004 and an altar server at OLV in Sayreville. He was an avid soccer player and a fan of the NY Giants and the NY Yankees. Jim’s greatest joy was his son Jimmy. He loved to help coach his little league team and he loved watching him play football. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his son.
He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents James and Agnes McLean, his maternal grandparents Robert and Adele Berthelson and his aunt Carol “Buzzy” Berthelson.
Surviving are his loving parents James and Joyce McLean, his beloved son James “Jimmy” McLean, his cherished sister Heather Antonuccio and her husband Christopher, his nephew Dominick Antonuccio, his cousins who were like siblings to him Marissa E. Benfer and her husband Jeffrey, Samantha A. Beer and her husband Brian, Catherine Rose McLean and Nick Piscetelli, Jimmy’s mother Jaclyn Nelson, his best friend Anthony Mignone, and many aunt, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be Monday 9:45am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin, with a 10:30am funeral Mass at St. Mary’s RC Church in South Amboy. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 1pm to 5pm.
