Jake Garboski, age, 58 of Seaside Park passed away peacefully at home on Sunday October 1, 2023. Born in New Brunswick, he grew up in South River. After graduating from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Jake enjoyed a long and accomplished career as a partner at CohnReznick. He later retired to Seaside Park.
Jake is remembered most for his ability to make everyone laugh and feel at ease. He had a quick wit and an encyclopedic knowledge of classic movies and tv shows. Jake was a huge fan of the Yankees and enjoyed attending games with his kids and watching the YES network down the shore. He loved the beach, spending much of his free time building up an unbelievable tan throughout the summer. The only thing he loved more than the shore was dogs, every dog he met was instantly his best friend.

Jake is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lorraine Garboski. Surviving are his children Courtney, Stephanie, and John Garboski, and his former wife and friend Carole Tashjian.

Visiting hours will be Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 9:30am to 11:00am with an in house prayer service at the Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Avenue South River 08882.
