Obituary for Gordon L. Cook Jr.
Gordon L Cook, Jr., age 76, of Parlin passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Gordon was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and Grampy. He will be missed by all of those who knew him. Before retirement Gordon worked for RCA and later MCI. An Air Force Veteran, and longtime member of the American Legion 211, Gordon had the honor of having worked on Air Force 1. An avid reader, Gordon could be found most afternoons reading his Kindle while sitting in his easy chair.
Gordon is predeceased by his parents Madeline Kapushy and Gordon L. Cook, Sr. His sister Mary Anne Basso and brother-in-law Frank Passaretti. Gordon is survived by his wife of 54 years Maria (nee Passaretti), his son Jeffrey (Michele Doughty), daughter Christina Dacosta (John, whom he loved as a son) and his adored grandchildren Madeline, Jack, Amelia, and Alexandra Dacosta. Also left to mourn are his brother-in-law Joseph Passaretti (Cathy), sisters Judy Kaplan (Paul), Janice Tonks (Kevin), Patricia DeVuyst (Donald) and brothers Albert and Thomas Kapushy, along with several nieces and nephews.
Special mention is made of his two sisters-in-law, Frances Scott (Thomas) and Julie Green (Ron). They provided Gordon with wonderful care, love, and compassion during his final days. He referred to them as his private nurses.
Friends and Relatives are invited to visit with the family, Monday 4pm – 8pm at Carmen F Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane Parlin NJ.
