Obituary for Gerard C "Rod" Kenny

Gerard C "Rod"  Kenny
Gerard C. “Rod” Kenny, Sr., age 87 of the Parlin section of Sayreville passed away Thursday, October 22nd 2015 at St Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Elizabeth he had resided in Parlin for the past 61 years. Before his retirement he was employed by Singer Corporation in Elizabeth as an Industrial Engineer for 39 years. He was a US Navy Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 211. Gerard was a communicant of St Mary’s RC Church in South Amboy and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2061 where he was a also a 4th degree knight and a PGK.

He is predeceased by his wife Rosemary in 2009. Surviving are his children and their spouses Gerard Jr and Michele of Florida, Richard and Nancy of Manalapan, Gayle and Michael Bennett of Virginia, James of Pennsylvania and Robert of Marlboro, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 10:00am Monday from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with a 10:30am Mass at St Mary’s RC Church in South Amboy. Burial will follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 2pm to 6pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Gerard’s name to St Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
