Obituary for George P Steckert

George P  Steckert
George P. Steckert, age 83 of Sayreville, passed away at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge. Born in Newark, he had lived in Sayreville for most of his life. Before his retirement George worked as a VP in the finance district. George served in the Hawaiian Armed Service Police in 1959. While serving he was a motor cycle patrolman in the traffic investigation department. He was a member of the Sayreville Seniors, the St. Stans Club and the Tuesday Club. George was a pigeon flyer and avid wood carver. George bred and nationally competed with fancy tail guppies. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, friend and so much more. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is predeceased by his parents. Surviving is his beloved children Linda & Fred Krumbine, Lisa & Ron Santalucia, George Steckert, Nanci Bleakley, and Jill Veit as well as his 5 grandchildren Nicholas, Tara, Morgan, Michael and Brian.

All services are private due to the COVID-19 federal restrictions on public gatherings, under the direction of the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin, N.J.
