George J. Burdak, age 94, of Sayreville passed away peacefully at his home with his beloved wife by his side on March 8, 2016. Born in Poland, he came to the United States as an infant and resided in Sayreville the rest of his life. George was a communicant of Sacred Heart R.C. Church in South Amboy.

Before his retirement he was employed by Hercules as a pipefitter for 41 years. Mr. Burdak proudly served his country during WWII as part of the U.S. Navy and was a member of VFW Post 4699.

He is predeceased by his parents, George and Mary Burdak, his brothers Joseph, John, Louis and Frank. Surviving are his wife Rose of 71 years, sons Thomas Burdak of Waterford Works, NJ and Robert Burdak and his wife Peggy of Sayreville, grandchildren Pamela Burdak of San Francisco CA, Beth Ann and husband Steven Yan of Marlboro, NJ, Ann Marie and husband Lou Diaz of Waterford and Thomas Burdak and his wife Lisa of Bethell, WA, two great grandchildren Corbin Yan and Holden Diaz and many loving nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday March 12, 2016 8:30am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane Parlin, NJ with a 9am mass being offered at Sacred Heart R.C Church, South Amboy and the burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Friday from 3pm to 7pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in George’s name to the Sacred Heart Repair Fund.
