Frank Joseph Ostrowski, a former resident of South Amboy, and current resident of The Willows in Holmdel, NJ, passed away peacefully the evening of December 20, 2020.

He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Mary (Dolly Sobczak), and his loving son, Gregory, of Holmdel.
He is survived by his son, Mark (Debra) of Timonium, MD, daughter-in-law Karen (Patella) of Holmdel, grandchildren Amanda (Ryan) Hovda of Cary, NC, Sarah (Christopher) Berg, of Hazlet, NJ, Kaitlyn (Mitchell) Monfette of Virginia Beach, VA, Rachel (Stephen) Johnson, of Brooklyn, NY, Elizabeth (James) Lowe of Freeland, MD, and Jeffrey and Peter of Holmdel, and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition, he is survived by nieces and nephews Ken Zaremba (Keasbey, NJ), Jane (Frank) Toth (Sayreville, NJ), Robert (Janet) Pescinski (Belle Mead, NJ), Lawrence (Nancy) Pescinski (Emmaus, PA), JoAnn (Fritz) Beechler of California, cousins, and numerous grand nieces and nephews.
He also dearly loved his Willows Family, and all who cared for him and were his friends over the past 13 years.

An Army veteran of World War II, he served in Italy and Tunisia (Africa) from 1943-1945, receiving the European-African-Middle East Service, Victory, and Good Conduct medals. He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts in South Amboy.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy, for 73 years, a member of the Holy Name Society, a very active participant in First Friday adoration, waking at all hours of the night to join fellow members in prayer. He also was a former Trustee, former President of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and recipient of the Regina Nostra Award from the Diocese of Metuchen. He was very active in volunteer construction projects in and around his beloved church for many years.

Frank was well known for many years in residential construction, and served as Supervisor for a number of housing projects throughout Middlesex, Monmouth and Somerset counties. He worked for DeVivo and Len-Guy Construction, and was also a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America. He was known for his attention to detail and quality in all of his construction projects, and highly regarded by all of the teams that he managed.

He was a trusted and loving friend, cordial to all, and loved all people. He appreciated all who came his way, was generous and thoughtful, prayerful, and believed that God had a place for him at the end of his life. He prayed the rosary daily with devotion for all of his relatives, friends and those who were ill, and had a personal mission to visit friends who were hospitalized. He loved all things Polish, especially Polish food and Polka music.

Frank enjoyed a long and full life, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
