Obituary for Francisco Jose "Frank" Samaniego

Francisco Jose “Frank” Samaniego, age 91, of Sayreville, peacefully passed away at his home on Monday, January 16, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Riobamba, Ecuador, Frank immigrated to the United States in 1962, initially living in Irvington. He later settled in Sayreville where he has lived with his wife for more than 44 years. He proudly became a US Citizen on May 6, 1993. Before his retirement, Mr. Samaniego worked with AT&T in Union in various positions. In his spare time, Frank enjoyed watching soccer, volunteering at the Sayreville Senior Center, bus trips to Atlantic City, bird watching, and tending to his magnolia trees. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Frank is predeceased by his parents, Aurelio and Luisa Samaniego, his brother Pedro Samaniego, sister Ines Rhor, and his sisters-in-law Barbara and Rita Samaniego. Surviving is his beloved wife of 62 years, Isabel Samaniego of Sayreville; his children and their spouses Susan Samaniego of Sayreville, Maria and Luis Arroyo of Parlin, Annabel Samaniego and David Edwards of AZ, and Franky X. Samaniego; his grandchildren Luis Arroyo and fiancée Kathy Pindych of Marlton, David Michael Edwards of NC, and Nicholas Dean Edwards of AZ; his siblings Roque Samaniego of Iselin, Jorge Samaniego of FL, and Mariana Rodrigues of Ecuador; and his brother-in-law Jorge Rhor of FL.
Calling hours are scheduled for Friday from 4pm to 8pm at the Maliszewski Memorial Home, 121 Main Street, Sayreville, NJ 08872.
Funeral services will take place at 10am on Saturday at the funeral home. Entombment will immediately follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum in Jamesburg.
