Obituary for Evan Makar

Evan Makar age 62 of Sayreville passed away Monday April 27, 2015. Born and raised in New York City he has resided in Sayreville for the past 28 years. Before his retirement he was employed as a Customs Broker for Muller Shipping in Queens, New York where he worked for 34 years. Evan was a member of the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. There he served as the past President, Vice President, and Treasurer on the Board of Trustees for St. Demetrios. He also served as the President of the Greek School of St. Demetrios.

Surviving are his wife of 35 years Valinda Makar, his children Andrew Makar and Nikki Pataracchia and her husband Luca with a grandchild on the way. Also surviving is his sister Katherine Winkler.

Funeral services will be held Saturday 9:15am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin followed by a 10am Liturgy at St. Demetrios Perth Amboy with a burial at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Friday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm with the Trisagion occurring at 7:30pm.
