Obituary for Eugene J Valesio Sr.

Eugene J. Valesio, Sr., age 89 of Spotswood passed away peacefully on Friday, March 26, 2021 at his home with his loving family by his side. Born in Manhattan, NY he had resided in the Parlin section of Old Bridge for many years before moving to Spotswood in 2008. Before his retirement he was employed as a Signal Specialist by the NY Transit Authority in Manhattan for 25 years. Eugene was a proud US Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War, he liked to build model planes and cars and enjoyed his weekly card games with his friends. He was a communicant of St Bernadette RC Church in Parlin.

He is predeceased by his parents Valentino and Elidia Valesio, his first wife Catherine and his siblings Alfred, Olga Dowling, Gloria Jordan and Ero. Surviving are his beloved wife of 18 years, Marie, his loving children and their spouses, Eugene John Jr and Mary Valesio, Lydia Ann and Brian Ruhle, Donna Valesio, Catherine Giordano and Alex Orlando, Teresa and Paul Hunnemeder, John and Michele Kraivec and Susan and Billy Martin, 20 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday 10am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with a 10:30am Mass at St Bernadette RC Church in Parlin. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 9am to 10am.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Eugene’s name to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or at www.stjude.org. Due to Covid-19 regulations, there is a limit of 100 guests allowed in the building at once and masks must be worn at all times.
